If someone asked me where I wish I could be right now, I would probably say sitting somewhere looking out at the ocean. I say this not because I like being on the beach (because I’m not tan nor am I particularly skinny) or because I want to be in a tropical paradise.
I say this because the ocean doesn’t ask anything of you. When you’re alone looking out at the ocean you feel so insignificant, millions of people are dying in this world, wars are being raged, and the ocean continues it’s persistent push and pull. You can go to the edge of the ocean a broken person and in an instant the salty breeze reminds you that you’re nothing.
What some people often overlook is how powerful the ocean is. It sustains all life on this earth. People come and go, but the ocean remains.
I would sit and look at the ocean because how incredible is it to be a blip in time, a breath of life, a blink of an eye and be able to gaze at eternity.
